Founders of Eastern Flames Sports Club Saudia Arabia share their journey
Maram Albutairi, Founder & Partner of Eastern Flames Sports Club
Maram Butairi is passionate and dedicated in promoting the power of team sports, especially football. In her professional career, she has served on various financial roles ranging from business developer at Saudi Aramco Entrepreneurship Center (Wa’ed) to financial analyst corporate finance and project development. Leveraging her professional background, she has been able to upscale Eastern Flames Football Club to be a Saudi female football competitive team, now part of the Eastern Flames Sports Academy brand (which she founded in 2018). Under the Eastern Flames brand, Maram has given over 600 females (both youth and adult), the opportunity to play football, futsal, and basketball through clinics, tournaments, and leagues, in both Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. As a diehard football fan, player, coach and manger; Maram had a breakout year in 2018 with her coaching opportunities, from being selected to represent her nation, in a US Women’s Soccer Coaches Sports Visitor Program, in America under the US State Department and FHI 360; to attending the 2nd AFC Women’s Football Development Seminar in Kula Lumpur, as part of the delegation of Saudi Arabia’s Football Federation; to earning her FIFA C-license Coaching badges under the UAE FA in Dubai at the end of the year. She was also recently awarded the 2018 Sayidaty Award for “most influential female KSA athlete”, all of which provides her with the motivation and passion needed to empower others, and especially women, through a love of football and facilitating a health and lifestyle change in her native society. Maram continue pushing a message close to her heart, the global awareness of female athletes in Saudi Arabia, as well as seeking to lead, coach and facilitate many future generations of Saudi Women football players.
